Paul – I will become a Chaplain because…

I WILL BECOME A CHAPLAIN BECAUSE:

The reason I say this is why I chose to title this essay I will become a Chaplain instead of I am a Chaplain. You see I see a Chaplain as being higher up than a Pastor because of what I saw in prison, but I know now that. That is only true in certain cases prison being one of them.

In Kingman prison the church is set up differently than on the outside. Christ is the head of the church that is the same but instead of a Pastor being in charge to run the church Chaplains are put in that position. Pastors and volunteers are under the authority of the Chaplains.

And they shall know me by my fruits. This class has taught me that it’s not the title or a degree in theology or even passing this class that makes a person a Pastor or Chaplain but what’s in their heart that truly matters.

We are comforted through our pain and sufferings by the love of Christ Jesus …Amen, Then we develop a heart for those who suffer in the same way we have and console them with the same love that we ourselves received. Our pain becomes our ministry.

When a mother looses a child due to an accident or illness, she can best help minister to a mother who lost a child in the same way. In the same manner with an illness, a person who has survived prostate cancer for instance can best help someone who has just been diagnosed with prostate cancer. I can’t be as effective in helping someone like that having not had prostate cancer. The believer in Christ can help by sharing their testimony and how their faith in, and the love of Christ helped them through the storm and how God even in the darkest days strengthened and brought to them a sense of peace and calmness in their life …Amen
